As the HOPEthiopia project as a whole is comprised of four unique, smaller projects—the community project, the agriculture project, the reforestation project, and the peace garden project—these will be undertaken in phases in order to maximize material, labour, management, and financial resources available. The first phase will primarily encompass the community project, which will see the creation of an environment housing 200 children (ranging from infants to young adults) and 50 retired citizens. Homes will be built in clusters of about six—25 homes of eight children each, and 10 homes of five senior citizens each. Electrical power will be provided to each home by means of solar renewable energy, and water will be available in a central community area which is easily accessible to all homes. Additional buildings, facilities, and resources to be incorporated: • Community dining hall and multipurpose facility which seats 400 • Onsite church • School • Sports facilities – 2 full-size football fields • Mission’s center to accommodate visiting volunteers • Guest home facility • Medical / Dental center • College for post-secondary education of students • Leadership training centre • Trades school • Arts school for training purposes, as well as revenue generation • Retreat center • Prayer centre • Technology center for training in various technologies such as computer, audio, video, web design, broadcasting, graphic design, etc. • Fishing pond
